Why did Gnosis choose olive oil as a carrier for a highly beneficial product?
Due to its lipophilic structure MK-7 is soluble in olive oil. It is demonstrated that olive oil enriched with MK-7 significantly increases MK-7 plasma levels and has an effect on osteocalcin and its carboxylation status (Brué F et al., 2011).
Olive oil has been found to positively influence several risk factors related to heart disease. It can affect total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. It might also increase HDL cholesterol, which has a protective function. Olive oil-related benefits also derive from their content in a series of antioxidants, which have been shown to antagonise lipid peroxidation and some connected events which favour atherogenesis.
Mediterranean Diet studies have long been associated with olive oil intake. Extensive research on its unique phytonutrient composition recognises olive oil for its protective action.

Although vitamin K has been around for decades, dietary recommendations have been overshadowed by the nominal amount of K1 required for healthy blood clotting—and have ignored the optimal amounts of vitamin K2 needed to maintain healthy bones and arteries at all stages of life.
It is now accepted that adequate intake of vitamin K2 is essential for healthy bones and to lower the risk of vascular damage, but it is also clear that almost every one of us is potentially deficient in vitamin K2 due to the change in diet habits and to the impact of food industry. Symptoms of vitamin K2 deficiency are so common and may be viewed as normal our society.
In the last decade, several studies have highlighted the benefits of vitamin k2 as menaquinone-7 at every stage of life. Maximising the accretion of bone during growth by optimal nutrition (including vitamin K intake) may reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Childhood & Adolescents
Vitamin K2 status in children helps to create strong and healthy bones. Research shows children have more inactive osteocalcin, a marker indicating an unusually poor vitamin K status, than adults. Without adequate vitamin K2, specifically as menaquinone-7 (MK-7), calcium cannot be adequately processed in the body to build healthy, strong bones and accordingly children and adolescents may have the greater benefit from vitamin K2 supplementation.
Male and female young adults appear to have the highest level of inactive osteocalcin compared to the total adult group. Decline of ucOC (undercarboxylated osteocalcin) happens at 30 years but levels increase again at 40 years. Without adequate vitamin K2 intake, a significant portion of osteocalcin will stay inactive and unable to bind calcium. Youth is one of the most important periods in which have a proper amount of vitamin k2 working, which means supplementing with vitamin K2 as MK-7.
Supplemental intake of MK-7 may have benefic effects in the prevention and treatment of bone loss in postmenopausal women and a useful tool in the bone loss with aging. At the menopause, as the levels of oestrogen drop dramatically, women undergo rapid bone loss. In the 10 years after menopause, women can lose 40% of their spongy, inner bone and 10% of their hard, outer bone. This reduces bone strength and increases a woman’s risk for fracture.
In adults the association between vitamin K status in bone health and vascular elasticity has been extensively studied. This means that vitaMK7® natural vitamin K2 as MK-7 plays an essential role in the pursuit of cardiovascular and bone health, so strategic in middle-age people.
An increasing number of aging-associated diseases are related to vitamin K2 insufficiency, like osteoporosis, arthritis and probably Alzheimer’s disease.
